The international youth ecological project
«GREEN PATCH ON GREY CITY»

Pupils of the Ecological center of the Rivne Palace of Children and Youth, Ukraine, together with the international youth team of the European Association for Leisure Time Institutions of Children and Youth plan to create a landscape park corner near the Palace of Children and Youth which becomes a compound component of a modern green zone of the city of Rivne, that in turn will unite joint efforts in the name of improvement of the environment of a mega city.

Gardening of cities - the general problem of an environment. Its sanction depends on rational accommodation plantings in the open territories, creations of favorable sanitary and hygienic conditions, increases of a level of comfort of existence of the person in the city environment, its general aesthetic enrichment. Due to the above-stated it is possible to reach significant effect of reduction in levels of dust content, a gassed condition, noise, to regulate relative humidity of air, to organize vacation spots and walks, to decorate city I shall hold down building and to give expressiveness to architectural ensembles. At transplant plants in it is artificial created urboecosistems there is probable a liquidation to the nature of harm or the prevention of its occurrence, support of ecological equilibrium in structure of a landscape, creation of a landscape which would meet the certain requirements, regulation of a microclimate, clarification of an atmosphere by withdrawal from air significant quantity a dust and gases, fastening of a ground and the prevention of carry of a dust.

To show the incorporated joint efforts of the European youth in the name of improvement of an environment.

- To unite youth around of idea of improvement of an environment, an ecological condition of a mega city;
- To attach youth to development of green space of city;
- To create conditions for personal self-realization, to promote formation of an active civic stand, to increase a level of socialization.

Methods of realization:
- To create youth initiative group;
- To lead ecological trainings, games with the purpose of formation of motivation to improvement of an environment;
- To acquaint with existing samples park corners of the city of Rivne and Berezne Dendropark, with natural-ecological conditions,
   tructure and a condition green zones of the city;
- To lead the master-class on bases of landscape design on the basis of Berezne Dendropark;
- To create a landscape park corner;
- To lead a round table by results of realization of the project;
- To hold press conference for representatives of mass-media.

Practical result:
-     Creation of initiative group for the further teamwork on improvement of the European ecological space;
-     Increase of a level of ecological consciousness;
-     Improvement of conditions of the city environment as a whole;
-     Purchase of skills of landscape design;
-     Distribution of experience of participation of youth to development of green space of a mega city;
-     Creation of a landscape park site as sample of landscape design for use in the cognitive, educational and aesthetic purposes;
-     Increase of a level of youth positions by way of development green zones of a mega city and purchase of practical skills of their
      creation;
-     Increase of a level of knowledge of the population about necessity of preservation green plantings;
-     Demonstration of positive experience of association of youth in the name of improvement of an environment.
